The software I use, the hardware I buy, and the things I do to stay productive.
Here’s a list of the tools I use to get my work done. I’m always looking for new things to try, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know!
Workstation
16” MacBook Pro, M1 Max, 32GB RAM (2021)
I was using an Intel MacBook Pro prior to this and the difference is night and day. I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to an Intel machine.
LG 27” 4K
I’ve been using this monitor for years and it’s still my favorite. The colors are great and the stand is super sturdy.
HHKB Professional Hybrid Type-S
The best keyboard I’ve ever used. I’ve tried a lot of different keyboards over the years but this one is the one I keep coming back to.
Apple Magic Trackpad
The Magic Trackpad is a great trackpad. I’ve been using it for years and haven’t had any issues with it.
Development tools
Visual Studio Code
I use VS Code for all of my projects. The extensions ecosystem is amazing and it extremely snappy on my machine.
iTerm2
I’ve been using iTerm2 for quite a while now and I love it. I especially love the ability to have multiple tabs open in the same window.
TablePlus
TablePlus is my favorite database client. It’s fast, it’s lightweight, and it has a great UI.
Productivity
Notion
Notion is my go-to for all of my note taking and project management needs. I use it for everything from my daily notes to my personal wiki.
Insomnia
Insomnia is my favorite API client. The UI is great and it’s extremely fast.
